A Lot of "Suicides"

Hi Global Recap readers,
Sometimes, stories line up in the strangest, most coincidental ways, and today’s one of those days. Are these so-called "suicides" really what they seem, or is it something more sus and shady?
First up: whenever someone mysteriously "falls" down the stairs or ends up dead by "accident," one name keeps showing up… Putin.👇️

🇷🇺 Putin Fires Minister, Found Dead. Roman Starovoyt, Russia’s transport minister, was found dead from a gunshot wound hours after Putin fired him on July 7.
Investigators are floating suicide, but the timing is suspicious.
His 25-year-old girlfriend reportedly found the body in a posh Moscow suburb.
He’d been under pressure over Ukraine’s surprise incursion into Kursk last year, where he previously served as governor, and was reportedly linked to a corruption scandal involving border fortifications.

🇺🇸 FBI Shuts Epstein Case. The FBI says Jeffrey Epstein wasn’t "murdered", never had a “client list,” and didn’t blackmail elites—contradicting years of theories.
A newly surfaced memo confirms he died by suicide in 2019, and no one entered his cell that night.
Even former skeptics like FBI Director Patel and Deputy Bongino now say “he killed himself,” despite having previously pushed conspiracy claims.
Elon Musk called the memo “the final straw.”
This officially lets people like Britain's Prince Andrew off the hook. He was famously photographed alongside co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell and victim Virginia Giuffre, who, earlier this year, reportedly died by "suicide."
✍️ Context: Trump supporters have been waiting for the administration to release the so-called “client list.”
• During a February 21 interview on Fox News, Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed, “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.”
• Frustrated Trump supporters are now calling for both Pam Bondi and FBI Director Patel to resign, saying they either lied back in February or are lying now with the release of the new memo.

🇺🇸 Trump Hosts Netanyahu Again. Trump and Netanyahu just had dinner at the White House, their third face-to-face this year, pushing for a 60-day Gaza ceasefire. Here are the key takeaways:
Netanyahu handed Trump a letter nominating him for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump promised to ramp up arms shipments to Ukraine, saying, “We’re going to send some more weapons. We have to.” Naturally, that’s not sitting well with the anti-war wing of his base.
There are unconfirmed reports of Israeli soldiers being ambushed and killed by Hamas shortly before dinner. If true, this would almost certainly mean no ceasefire.

Trump, during the “Liberation Day” announcement on April 2, 2025.
🇺🇸 Trump Sets Tariff Countdown. Trump just warned Japan, South Korea, and 13 other countries they’ll face steep tariffs (25 - 40%) if they don’t strike trade deals by August 1.
His initial "Liberation Day" tariff pause deadline was set for July 9."
According to Trump, this new deadline is “firm, but not 100% firm,” hinting at room for negotiations.
Before the announcement, with the original July deadline approaching, a lot of people were betting that Trump would TACO (short for "Trump Always Chickens Out"). This led to the stock market rallying for the past few days, despite the looming deadline.

🇮🇷 IRAN
"Meaning: Death to America"
In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the infamous "Death to America" chant, used by Iran and its proxies, isn’t aimed at killing American citizens, but at opposing American ideology.
🤔 Possible Explanation? That explanation might be technically accurate, but the way things played out suggest that even if the chant seems "ambiguous,” it still reflects the violent mindset of radical leaders.
And when followers hear it over and over, week after week, it could drive some extremists to take real action.
The Interview
First, here's the full interview.
(16:32) The Iranian President starts explaining what "Death to America" means.
That said, a lot of people are pointing to the Iranian regime’s recent actions and rhetoric as proof that the chant isn’t just a peaceful protest. They claim that it’s a call to action, and one that's already had real-world consequences.
1. "Kill Trump"
In 2023, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Hajizadeh said, "God willing we’ll be able to kill Trump, Pompeo, McKenzie and other US commanders."
Hajizadeh was killed on June 13, 2025, in an Israeli airstrike that hit an underground military command center in Iran.
2. $27 Million
Regime-linked Iranian media started floating a $27 million “donation” for anyone who assassinates US President Donald Trump, calling it “divine revenge” for disrespecting Khamenei.
3. Fatwa

Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi recently issued a fatwa, calling for the assassination of US President Donald Trump and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, branding them “Enemies of God” after US strikes hit Iran’s nuclear sites in June.
A fatwa is a formal ruling or interpretation issued by an Islamic religious authority on a point of law.
Although a fatwa may be symbolic, the one issued by then-Supreme Leader Khomeini in 1989 against Salman Rushdie for his novel The Satanic Verses, which many Muslims viewed as blasphemous, ultimately led to Rushdie being stabbed in New York in 2022, though he survived the attack.
In 1991, an Italian translator of the book was stabbed but managed to survive.
Just a few days later, the Japanese translator Hitoshi Igarashi was fatally stabbed in the face multiple times.
4. Celebrations After 911
Here's a clip of Palestinians celebrating the September 11 terrorist attacks.
However, it should be noted that it’s quite possible that Iranian leaders see the chant as a rallying cry in an ideological and intellectual battle.
To give the benefit of the doubt, let’s look at what Supreme Leader Khamenei has done that may suggest that the chant is indeed non-violent:
Khamenei's Actions

After the September 11 attacks, Khamenei paused the chant during Friday Prayers.
Some see this as a sign of respect toward the US, at least for a time.
Others think he just wanted to avoid giving the impression that Iran supported the attacks, which could have sparked a US strike against Iran.
In a statement posted on his website November 3, 2015, Khamenei clarified: "This slogan doesn’t mean death to the American people; it means death to US policies, death to arrogance."
📊 Poll
Do you think the chant is a call to commit violence against Americans, or is it simply a way to express the Iranian leadership’s anger at US policies, which some radical followers have interpreted as a call to action?
