Suicide Bombing Targets Chinese Engineers

A suicide attack in Pakistan killed five Chinese engineers.

  • 💥 Impact. The attack struck a convoy carrying Chinese nationals to the Dasu hydroelectric dam site, reflecting the region’s volatile security situation.

  • 🇨🇳 Diplomacy. China condemned the attack and demanded a thorough investigation, highlighting the tension between economic interests and local resentment.

  • 🚫 Accountability. Although no group has yet taken responsibility, it’s known that Islamist militants affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban, known as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were behind the killing of 13 workers at this site in 2021.

Putin’s Mixed Admission

In his latest televised address, President Vladimir Putin has finally acknowledged the involvement of “radical Islamists” in the Moscow concert hall attack.

But there’s a twist.

  • 🔍 Inquiry. Although he admits their role in the terror attack, Putin suggests a possible link between the attackers and Ukraine and the West, despite Ukraine’s dismissal of such claims as absurd.

Assange’s Dodges Extradition

The notorious WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, has evaded immediate extradition to the US, as ruled by London’s High Court.

Chinese Hackers’ Sinister Attack

The US has charged seven Chinese nationals with conducting a “sinister” cyber-attack campaign targeting American officials and businesses.

  • 🕵️‍♂️ Espionage. The accused allegedly sent over 10,000 “malicious emails,” compromising thousands of victims globally, backed by China’s government.

  • 🌐 Global. The operation spanned 14 years, targeting U.S. critics of China, businesses, and politicians, with the U.K. and New Zealand reporting similar cyber campaigns.

  • 🔍 Scrutiny. The FBI vows relentless pursuit against cyber espionage, while China denies the allegations, dismissing them as “completely fabricated and malicious slanders.”

ISRAEL-HAMAS

U.N. Cease-Fire Conundrum

The United Nations Security Council has voted to adopt a ceasefire resolution, angering Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
