Bad Dog: Biden’s Pet Removed for Aggression

🐶 Biden’s Dog Bites Back. The US president’s pet dog has been causing trouble at the White House, biting several staff members and Secret Service agents.

Well… 11 agents and a higher number of staff members to be exact.

🏠 Commander Sent Away. Commander, Biden’s two-year-old German Shepherd, has been removed from the presidential residence and sent to an undisclosed location. The White House is evaluating the “next steps” for the dog.

😬 Why It Matters. Commander’s biting incidents have raised questions about the safety and well-being of the people who work and visit the White House. They also reflect poorly on Biden’s image as a leader and a pet lover.

🐾 The Dog’s History. Commander was a gift from President Biden’s brother James Biden and his sister-in-law Sara Biden in 2021. His arrival at the White House followed the relocation of the president’s other German shepherd, Major, who was also sent away in 2021 for several biting incidents.

🗣️ What They Said. The White House spokesperson said that the Bidens “care deeply” about the safety of those who work at the White House and those who protect them. The Secret Service said that none of its agents were seriously injured by Commander.

The Bidens have previously pointed to the “stressful” conditions at the White House as the reason for their dogs’ behavior.
