Communists in America
Hi Global Recap readers,
Do you have any debt?
If you’re feeling stressed about the amount of debt you’ve accumulated, here’s a bit of reassurance:

The United States’ debt hit $35 trillion for the first time on Friday.
But now, let’s talk about Maduro’s election win (?) and communism in America. 👇
🇻🇪 VENEZUELA
Maduro Won Election, Or Did He?

Nicolás Maduro has been declared the winner of Venezuela’s presidential election, despite exit polls showing a resounding victory for the opposition rival Edmundo González.
But this is just the start of irregularities.
Election Results
Maduro was declared the winner with 51.2% of the votes, a result contested by many.
The national electoral council, controlled by the Maduro regime, announced Maduro’s victory with 51.2% of the votes.
His rival, Edmundo González Urrutia, allegedly received 44.2% of the votes.
The results were delayed by six hours, amidst exit polls showing Maduro’s defeat, causing concern among South American governments about election fraud. This delay also hindered the opposition’s ability to challenge the outcome.
Opposition’s Stand
Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado asserts González’s win, alleging electoral fraud and irregularities.
Machado was blocked from running in 2024.
She claims González won around 70% of the vote, based on voting tallies received from campaign representatives.
She called even called for the military to uphold the results. military to uphold the true results.
“A message for the military. The people of Venezuela have spoken: they don't want Maduro.”
Mistake 1
Take a look at the image below. It supposedly shows a Chavista worker, responsible for tallying up votes, who posted a selfie with his co-workers.
But look closely behind him. The computer screens display pie charts where the blue sections significantly overshadow the red sections in all the charts.

What’s so significant about this? Take a look at the images below.
The red color represents GPPSB, Maduro’s socialist coalition.
The blue color represents González’s Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD) coalition.

Mistake 2
Check out this local TV report on the results below.
Notice anything strange? In Maduro’s Venezuela, it seems possible for more than 100% of the population to vote.
51.2 + 44.2 + 4.6 + 4.6 + 4.6 = 109.2%

More Irregularities
There are also unverified accounts of fraudulent activities:
Some voting centers closed early, which is illegal.
There is a video of people at a voting station cheering as it is announced that Maduro received 0 votes in that particular center.
According to Delsa Solórzano (@delsasolorzano), the former Deputy of the National Assembly of Venezuela, the National Electoral Council has stopped broadcasting vote count data and is barring opposition party witnesses from accessing voting records, even removing them from polling stations.
But of course, as this news is still developing, more clarity will come in the days to come.
International Response
Mixed reactions have emerged from the international community regarding the election results.
US and several Latin American leaders expressed doubts about the legitimacy of the results.
Presidents of Cuba, Honduras, and Bolivia welcomed Maduro’s re-election.
Calls for detailed voting data have been echoed by Spain’s foreign minister and the EU’s foreign policy chief.
Some say that a civil war might ensue, while others have given up, saying it is the end of hoping for democracy in Venezuela, as there are no term limits for the six-year presidency.
Communism in America
Ironically, As Venezuela sought to vote out socialism, the Revolutionary Communists of America held a rally in Philadelphia on Sunday.
People on X are warning that slipping into communism or socialism is easy. But as exemplified by Venezuela, it is almost impossible to escape.

New CCTV Footage of the Manchester Airport Incident

Remember the recent incident at Manchester Airport where a police officer was filmed kicking an already-subdued man on the ground?
Well, a new CCTV footage has emerged.
What Happened?
Officers were called to reports of an assault at Terminal 2, Manchester Airport at 8:25 pm on July 23.
A male suspect was seen on CCTV at a ticket machine in the car park and officers were sent.
While attempting to arrest one suspect, two officers were violently assaulted and punched to the ground and one female officer suffered a broken nose, and all three were taken to the hospital for treatment.
A police officer was filmed kicking Mohammed Fahir, 19, at Manchester Airport on July 23.
Consequences
The video led to the officer’s suspension and a criminal investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Fahir’s lawyer claimed in an interview that his client “has a cyst on the brain.” However, many criticized this as an attempt to garner sympathy. He also labeled the police officer’s action as “an attempted assassination.”
New Footage Emerges
Fresh CCTV footage shows two men attacking one male and two female police officers before the viral incident, shedding light on what led to the police officer kicking and stomping on Fahir’s head.
Police Support
Police federations have rallied behind the suspended officer, emphasizing the need to protect law enforcement officers.
Richard Cooke, chairman of the West Midlands Police Federation, stated the new clip offers a "different perspective altogether."
Thoughts
The recent release of CCTV footage shows that the police were violently attacked first.
Supporters of the police argue that officers should never be attacked, and they justify the violence as retaliation for previous assaults on their colleagues.
Those in the middle believe both sides are at fault.
Supporters of Fahir claim that the incident stems from racism and police brutality.

🇺🇸 UNITED STATES
Deez Nuts
Before we begin with more dire news about the state of the world, let’s begin with a lighter story.
Timeline of Events
Gavin Newsom posted a snippet of a news article reporting that Elon Musk retweeted a Kamala Harris campaign ad featuring a digitally-altered voice of Harris.
In the post, he proclaimed that he will soon sign a bill to make these ads illegal.
To which, Musk replied as follows:
Opinions
Sure, digitally manipulated voices in political ads can be detrimental. However, that is with a caveat.
If the altered voice says things subtly scripted to be somewhat in line with what the true subject would say, it can be problematic.
But in this case, there was no doubt that it was a parody. @MrReaganUSA’s post clearly states it as such too.

Paris Olympics’ Non-Apology
I am sure, if you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ve already seen the controversial opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. Amidst heavy backlash from all over the globe, Paris Olympics organizers made an “apology.”
Apology
There are two takeaways from the “apology.”
“Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group. [The opening ceremony] tried to celebrate community tolerance. We believe this ambition was achieved. If people have taken any offense we are really sorry.”
“In France we’re allowed to love who we want, how we want. In France we can believe or not believe, and in France we have a lot of rights, and I wanted to convey these values through the ceremony.”
Controversy

I tried to attach a video of the opening ceremony, but since people expressed outrage over it, the official Olympics YouTube channel deleted the video. But that’s not all.
It has reportedly been taking down any reproductions online by issuing DMCA takedown requests, citing copyright violations. Therefore, it’s hard to find the full video of the ceremony.
Among the most controversial aspects of the ceremony was a man having his testicle out in the open in front of a young girl, and an appropriation of Leonardo da Vinci’s mural painting, The Last Supper.
People are labeling it the “worst” opening ceremony and a display of “woke dystopia.”
Hypocrisy?
Another question people started asking was, “Can they mock Islam in such a way and get away with it too?”
The answer is obvious: no.
Remember the Charlie Hebdo shooting? Islamist terrorists shot and killed 12 people in broad daylight in Paris in 2015 because the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo published a satirical drawing of Mohammed.
Another Controversy
While all the participating nations were being introduced at the opening ceremony, the Republic of Korea (South) was introduced as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North) by both French and English announcers.
This mistake outraged South Koreans watching the ceremony, with many mocking the organizers for being incompetent in every facet of the opening ceremony.
The International Olympic Committee issued an apology for the gaffe.

🇹🇷 TURKEY
Erdogan Hints At Entering Israel
President Tayyip Erdogan has hinted at possible military intervention in Israel, similar to Turkey’s past actions in Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Erdogan’s Speech
Speaking at a televised meeting of his ruling AK Party in Rize:
He criticized Israel’s offensive in Gaza.
Erdogan emphasized the need for Turkey to be strong.
He mentioned past interventions in Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh.
However, since it was televised, people are skeptical of Erdogan’s all-but-words showmanship.
If this is true though, it might prompt other nations to join in, possibly igniting World War 3.
Meanwhile, in Israel…
Israeli drone strikes hit southern Lebanon on Monday, killing two and wounding three.
This was in response to a deadly rocket strike from Lebanon that killed 12 children and teenagers on a soccer field in the Golan Heights.
