Deport'em Together??

Hi Global Recap readers,
Welcome back everyone!
We’re kicking off another week with a roaring stock market, ongoing violence in the Middle East and Ukraine, and… Trump swiftly announcing key positions in his administration.
📎 One post has gone viral: 60 Minutes shared a clip from their interview with Tom Homan, Trump’s newly appointed “border czar.” The isolated posting seemed to frame Homan in a negative light. Most politicians will ignore it, but Homan reposted it on his X feed—almost as if he’s proud of his remarks.
🤔 Watch till the end. His supporters are celebrating this as a “bad-ass, no-nonsense stance,” while critics are labeling it “dictatorial” and “inhumane.”

Mass Night Bike Rides Halted

Thousands of Chinese students took to the streets for late-night bike rides between Zhengzhou and Kaifeng—because, well, why not?
But the CCP authorities didn’t seem to find it as fun. They shut it down, claiming “safety concerns” as the reason for the ban.
The Craze
The rides started in June with just four college friends.
They rode 40 miles from Zhengzhou to Kaifeng for soup dumplings. 😂
The trend grew, drawing hundreds of riders nightly.
The number of riders swelled to tens of thousands.
The Shutdown
Authorities halted the rides over the weekend.
Photos showed bikes filling multilane roads, causing congestion.
Authorities are worried about emergency vehicle access and potential accidents.
The Experience

Riders apparently loved the sense of community and adventure that the bike ride brought.
Bin Li, a third-year engineering student, joined the ride on a whim.
He met strangers along the way and formed impromptu riding partnerships.
The journey felt like a rolling street festival with music and fireworks.
The Economic Impact
The rides initially boosted local business and tourism.
Kaifeng's theme park opened early and offered free admission to students.
Volunteers distributed free breakfast at the gate.
Additional bike docking sites were set up, and traffic police escorted students.
The Aftermath
Will this stop the movement? I guess not.
Students are finding new ways to continue the trend.
Despite restrictions, students are determined to keep the spirit alive, even if it means walking instead of biking.

Harris Asks for Cash to “Recount Votes”

Kamala Harris’ campaign is still fundraising, this time to cover its massive debts and… to recount the votes.
Is she simply capitalizing on her supporters who are pushing for a recount, or is this a genuine effort to overturn the election results?
Conceding Defeat, Seeking Cash
Despite conceding the election to President-elect Donald Trump, Harris is still raking in donations through the ActBlue platform.
Her campaign is claiming the funds will help "elect Democrats down the ticket," but analysts believe this is all about paying off the unpaid vendors.
Harris' team is reportedly $20 million in debt.
Also, there's no indication Harris is actually seeking a recount for herself, so personally, I believe this is all about paying off the debt.
Vendors Left Hanging
It seems Harris' campaign has stiffed some of its service providers, and they're not happy about it.
The campaign apparently owes money to vendors who organized star-studded concerts in swing states during the election.
These vendors are now "frantic" that they won't get paid for their work.
Disarray in The Party
The fallout from Harris' defeat is causing chaos within the Democratic party.
Confirmed: It’s now confirmed that the Republican Party will control the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives starting in 2025.
However: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is refusing to invite the apparent Republican winners in Pennsylvania and Arizona to orientation, citing “outstanding ballots,” even though the races have already been called.
Even some Dem senators are calling out this blatant attempt to undermine the election results.

US Strikes Iran-Linked Targets

US forces recently conducted strikes against nine Iran-linked militia targets in Syria, following several attacks on US personnel.
The strikes aim to degrade the Iranian-backed groups' ability to plan and launch future attacks.
The Strikes
US forces targeted nine locations in Syria.
The strikes were in response to attacks on US personnel over the last 24 hours.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated the strikes would degrade the groups' ability to plan future attacks.
The Message
CENTCOM emphasized a clear stance against attacks.
Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla said, "Attacks against US and coalition partners in the region will not be tolerated".
The US will continue to protect its personnel and coalition partners.
The Context
Tensions between Israel and Iran are escalating.
Several B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers arrived in the Middle East on November 3 in support of Israel.
An Iranian asset was recently charged with attempting to assassinate President-elect Trump.

DOJ Charges Three in Iranian Plot to Kill Trump

The US Justice Department has announced federal charges against three individuals for an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate former President Donald Trump before the 2024 election.
The Alleged Plot
According to court documents, Iranian officials tasked Farhad Shakeri, an Afghan national residing in Tehran, to focus on surveilling and assassinating Trump.
Shakeri was originally asked to carry out other assassinations against US and Israeli citizens, but was later told to only target Trump.
Prosecutors say Shakeri relied on a "network of criminal associates" he met in a New York prison to help with the plot.
Two American citizens, Carlisle Rivera and Jonathan Loadholt, were also charged for allegedly helping surveil an Iranian-American journalist targeted by Iran.
Iran's Response
Iran has "categorically dismissed" the Justice Department's allegations, calling them "completely baseless and rejected."
The Iranian Foreign Ministry described the claims as a "malicious conspiracy" aimed at "further complicating the issues between the US and Iran."
This is not the first time Iran has been accused of plotting to kill Trump - the US has repeatedly raised concerns about potential retaliation for the killing of Qasem Soleimani.
Genius Analysis Here
There are two possible conclusions here:
Iran is lying,
Iran is telling the truth.
Genius, right?
Case Against Iran: Iran has a history of threatening assassination attempts against Trump. Recently, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps even posted a video on its Telegram:

Click for video
The text reads: “The unfinished work will soon be completed…”
Case Against US: This is one of the biggest tinfoils out there, but I’m mentioning it because it exists: some believe the US is planning a false flag operation against Trump, intending to blame it on Iran before inauguration.
If there’s any truth to this, it could explain Iran’s claims of innocence.
However, considering that Iran has previously released videos threatening to assassinate Trump, this theory might just be exactly that—a tinfoil.
But once again, tinfoil is a tinfoil until it actually happens. So nobody really knows.
