China Exposes Another U.S. Mole in Its Ranks

🕵️♂️ Another alleged CIA spy caught in China. China has exposed a second case of espionage by a Chinese national working for the CIA this month. The spy, named Hao, was allegedly recruited by the U.S. while studying in Japan and infiltrated a Chinese government ministry.
📝 How was Hao recruited? He became close with a U.S. embassy official in Japan while applying for a U.S. visa. The U.S. official purportedly treated him to meals and gifts, eventually persuading Hao to go back to China. His return was under the pretense of "providing intelligence and collecting espionage funds" on behalf of the CIA.
🇨🇳 China’s anti-spy campaign intensifies. The Ministry of State Security, China's intelligence agency, has openly accused Hao of working as a spy for the CIA through its WeChat account. The ministry has also recently initiated a social media campaign, urging "all members of society" to report any information related to espionage activities. This strategy seems aimed at fostering suspicion among individuals, sowing seeds of fear and distrust.
🇺🇸 U.S.-China spy war escalates. While the U.S. and China have a history of mutual surveillance, the rivalry has intensified due to conflicts over trade, technology, human rights, and regional influence. Earlier in the month, the situation escalated when two U.S. Navy sailors were arrested in the U.S. under suspicion of leaking military secrets to China.
