Hi Global Recap readers,

On day six, the four Artemis II astronauts reached 406,778 kilometers (252,760 miles) from Earth, beating the Apollo 13 distance mark from 1970, and setting the record for furthest human spaceflight. The crew had more than 6 hours to study the moon up close. There was also a 40-minute blackout as the capsule slipped behind the moon.

What a wild weekend. Besides that incredible view of the moon from Artemis II, we also got a few polarizing posts from President Trump.

If you’ve felt overwhelmed by the usual flood of online takes, unverified claims, and straight-up misinformation, I broke it all down for you in today’s long-form section below.

🇨🇳 CHINA
China Locks Airspace

  • China recently carved out huge offshore airspace with unlimited altitude for 40 days.

  • The restriction runs from March 27 to May 6.

  • The airspace is staying restricted with no explanation given—unlike typical drills, which are usually announced ahead of time. So this is unusual.

  • However, the area is over the Yellow sea and East China Sea, which is positioned away from Taiwan, facing Japan and South Korea.

🇹🇷 TURKEY
Erdogan's Hitler Comparison

  • Erdogan used a Cabinet speech launch a “veiled attack” at Israeli PM Netanyahu, comparing him to Hitler and warning the world to stop this path of tyranny.

  • In the same speech, he accused Israel of fueling regional tensions through its actions in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, saying it was destabilizing the region for political goals.

  • What's telling is: he paired all that with a "no" on early elections at home.

    • Some people are using this to push for the US to pull its troops out of NATO.

    • Others are using it to go after Netanyahu hard.

🇷🇺 RUSSIA
Russia's Israeli Target List

Bazan refinery in Haifa, Israel, after it was hit by an Iranian missile, March 30, 2026.

  • Ukraine is accusing Russia of giving Iran a list of 55 Israeli energy sites to target, divided into 3 tiers:

    1. core production facilities

    2. major urban and industrial hubs in central Israel

    3. local substations

  • Not only that, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy says Russia is also passing along battlefield know-how from the Russia-Ukraine war.

  • Moscow's response: we are not sharing intel with Iran.

🇮🇱 ISRAEL
Caught Spying for Iran

  • A 21-year-old Jerusalem man was arrested on March 26.

  • Police say he spent more than 2 months filming sites for an Iranian handler.

  • He also photographed the route near former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett's home for Iran.

  • In a separate case, investigators say other Israelis tested explosives for Iranian actors.

  • Iranian recruiters are reportedly using Telegram to pull ordinary Israelis.

🇮🇷 IRAN
Tomorrow's Deadline

Post That Started It All

On Easter Sunday, President Trump posted the following on Truth Social:

“Coincidentally,” 8:00 pm is when the extended trading hours end.

Content. Beside the obvious extension of the deadline for Iran, what’s noticeable about the first post above is the use of profanities. What’s especially more attention-grabbing is the fact that President Trump said “Praise be to Allah” on Easter.

Reception

President Trump’s supporters are calling this a refreshing takedown of the Islamic regime of Iran. However:

  • Democrat politicians and news outlets are fanning the idea of using the 25th amendment to remove President.

  • But there’s one problem: the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet must declare the president unable to perform their duties—which is extremely unlikely to happen.

  • And on top of that, a right-wing political podcaster Tucker Carlson came out swinging, saying “no president should mock Islam,” and accusing the President of ruining the spirit of Easter by threatening to destroy Iran’s civilian infrastructure.

  • But here’s the problem: people are also calling him a hypocrite, pointing out that last year he floated the idea of “nuking” Tehran if Iran actually tried to assassinate a US president.

  • People have been claiming for a while that Carlson’s on Qatar’s payroll, and comments like this just add fuel to that fire.

  • But what a lot of people don’t realize is that Donald Trump has actually been pretty consistent about using harsh language when talking about people he labels as terrorists.

Iran’s Response

Answer. Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) said Iran rejects US’s ceasefire proposal, replying with the following 10 clauses:

  1. A guarantee that Iran will not be attacked again

  2. A permanent end to the war (not just a temporary ceasefire)

  3. An end to Israeli strikes in Lebanon

  4. Lifting all US sanctions on Iran

  5. An end to regional fighting targeting Iranian allies

In exchange, Iran proposed:

  1. Reopening the Strait of Hormuz

  2. Charging a $2 million transit fee per ship through Hormuz

  3. Sharing those fees with Oman

  4. Establishing formal rules for safe passage in Hormuz

  5. Using the collected fees for reconstruction rather than reparations

Tactics. On top of all this, Iranian state media is now telling civilians, including students, artists, and athletes to gather at power plants and form human chains on Tuesday afternoon, calling it a “Symbolic Human Chain of Iran's Youth for a Bright Future." See the video above.
