ISIS in US?
Hi Global Recap readers,
Given that Russia has stationed its warships in Cuba, and there are suspicions of ISIS members entering the U.S. via the southern border, is there an increased likelihood of a terrorist attack occurring on U.S. soil, as previously warned by the FBI?
These latest arrests are concerning. 👇
🇺🇸 United States
ISIS Terrorism Concerns

The land of the free faces a new challenge: potential terrorism links within its borders.
Is America on high alert? Could there be more?
🔘 Arrests: The United States has taken decisive action against eight Tajikistan nationals residing in the country. Following a discovery of potential ties to terrorism, federal agents quickly arrested the individuals in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia.
Initially, no red flags were raised when they entered the US via the Southern border.
However, subsequent investigations revealed possible connections to ISIS members overseas.
🔘 Investigation: This operation was a coordinated effort between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the FBI’s joint terrorism task forces. The individuals are now detained, awaiting removal proceedings.
Public and partner bulletins have indicated a heightened threat environment in the US.
The decision to expel the eight was made to prevent the risk of a potential plot unfolding on American soil.
🔘 Insights: While investigators do not believe these individuals received training abroad or were sent with violent intentions, the arrests have raised concerns.
Only a few of those arrested had expressed extremist rhetoric.
The extent of the association of the others with the group remains unclear, highlighting the complexities of counterterrorism efforts.
There’s More
Remember, Hezbollah and Hamas are recognized as terrorist organizations by various nations.

🇱🇧 Lebanon
Hezbollah Fires at Israel
Lebanon’s Hezbollah has intensified its attacks against Israel, signaling a potential slide toward full-scale conflict.
🔘 Retaliation: In response to the death of Taleb Abdallah, their top field commander, Hezbollah unleashed a massive rocket barrage on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and northern Israel, marking a significant escalation in hostilities.
More than 140 rockets were fired, some causing fires due to the summer heatwave. Some sources even claim up to 200 rockets were fired.
Hezbollah claims to have targeted key Israeli military sites with these attacks.
🔘 Casualties: The ongoing conflict has already taken a heavy toll, with casualties on both sides. The exchange of fire has resulted in the deaths of soldiers and civilians and the displacement of tens of thousands.
The conflict has claimed 18 Israeli soldiers, 10 Israeli civilians, 71 Lebanese civilians, and about 500 members of Hezbollah.
🔘 Diplomacy: Efforts by the U.S. and France to defuse the situation are underway, but the threat of escalation looms large.

🇵🇸 Gaza
Hamas Believes Civilian Deaths Are Necessary

🔘 Leadership: Yahya Sinwar, the military leader of Hamas, is steering the group’s war efforts from underground tunnels.
Despite the high civilian death toll, he views these losses as “necessary sacrifices” for their cause.
Sinwar’s messages reveal a resolve to continue fighting, with a belief that civilian casualties will increase global pressure on Israel.
🔘 Ceasefire: The U.S. has proposed a ceasefire plan, which includes releasing hostages and establishing lasting peace in Gaza. The world awaits Hamas’ response, which will indicate their priorities and willingness to end the conflict.
Sinwar’s stance is crucial as the US pursues a ceasefire deal, with Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasizing Sinwar’s role as the key decision-maker.
The Wall Street Journal reported Sinwar’s messages, revealing his intent to prolong the conflict, which has been met with public criticism from U.S. officials.
“We have the Israelis right where we want them.”

🇬🇧 United Kingdom
Art Gallery Activism
London witnessed a unique protest where activists used a cartoon character to protest.
But of course, this isn’t entirely new.
🔘 Vandalism: In a bold move, animal rights activists from Animal Rising targeted King Charles III’s portrait at the Philip Mould Gallery in London.
They cleverly pasted Wallace, from “Wallace and Gromit,” over the king’s image to protest against alleged cruelty on RSPCA farms.
The gallery confirmed the painting was unharmed, thanks to its protective plastic cover.
🔘 Message: The activists’ choice of Wallace carried a poignant message, with a speech bubble stating, "No cheese, Gromit. Look at all this cruelty on RSPCA farms!"
This act was a statement against “animal husbandry violations.”
🔘 Art & Royalty: The defaced portrait is no ordinary artwork; it’s the first of Charles as king, symbolizing his 50-year association with the Drapers’ Company.
The butterfly above his shoulder in the painting perhaps now takes on a new meaning amidst the activism.
Commissioned by a historic trade association, the portrait now stands at the intersection of art, royalty, and activism.
On a side note, there’s a theory circulating online suggesting that if this painting is viewed in a certain way, it appears to depict Satan.
The image is provided below ONLY for your reference, so you know it exists. I don’t know where that arm came from. 😂

🇸🇩 Sudan
Darfur’s Dire Struggle

The city of El Fasher in Sudan’s Darfur region is on the brink of being overtaken by rebel forces, signaling a critical moment in the country’s 14-month civil war.
Will El Fasher withstand the siege?
🔘 Conflict: The United States’ envoy to Sudan has issued a stark warning, saying that El Fasher, the last army-held city in western Darfur, is under imminent threat from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The RSF’s ambition to declare Darfur an independent state is met with U.S. disapproval, emphasizing that capturing El Fasher won’t grant them any right to statehood.
“I think if there’s anyone in RSF territory who thinks taking El Fasher means somehow they will have a right to the state of Darfur, they need to disillusion themselves of that myth.”
🔘 Humanitarian Crisis: The siege of El Fasher by the RSF since mid-April has led to a humanitarian disaster.
Civilians are trapped, facing hunger and thirst amidst shortages, and hospitals are under attack.
Claire Nicolet of MSF describes the situation as a mass casualty event, with the Sayyid Shuada Health Center overwhelmed by the influx of wounded patients.
🔘 Community Response: Amidst the chaos, local volunteers have rallied to support the Sayyid Shuada health center, providing non-medical aid and gathering donations for medical supplies.
The South Hospital, another critical facility, was recently stormed by RSF fighters, leading to its closure after gunmen opened fire and looted the premises, including an ambulance.
The situation in El Fasher is deteriorating rapidly, with the constant shelling forcing tens of thousands to flee.
