NATO in Ukraine (Already)

Hi Global Recap readers,

6 years ago today: the National People’s Congress of China abolished term limits for its leader, paving the way for Xi Jinping to stay in power indefinitely.

Coincidently: the World Health Organization (WHO) announced the outbreak of COVID-19 as a pandemic exactly two years after this significant event in China.

What a day.

NATO

NATO’s in Ukraine Already

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski revealed during a NATO anniversary event that NATO soldiers from certain countries are already in Ukraine.

“NATO soldiers are already present in Ukraine. And I would like to thank the ambassadors of those countries who have taken that risk. These countries know who they are, but I can't disclose them. Contrary to other politicians, I will not list those countries”

  • 🗣️ Disclosure. Sikorski made his remarks in the midst of a contentious debate sparked by French President Macron’s discussion of a possible NATO troop deployment.

As expected, they normalize the narrative first, then take action once people have acclimated to the news.

Was Macron merely warming us up?

ISRAEL

Netanyahu’s Ready to Go Against Biden

Israeli PM Netanyahu is prepared to cross the “red line” to defy President Biden’s warnings against invading Rafah.

Here’s how things went down:

  • Saturday: Biden said in an MSNBC interview that he opposes the Rafah invasion, calling it a “red line.” Then he quickly flip-flopped, saying this:

“It is a red line, but I’m never going to leave Israel. The defense of Israel is still critical. So there’s no red line [at which] I’m going to cut off all weapons so they don’t have the Iron Dome to protect them.”

How can it be a red line, but not be a red line?

  • Sunday: Netanyahu, in his interview with Axel Springer, said:

“We'll go there. We're not going to leave them. You know, I have a red line. You know what the red line is? That October 7 doesn't happen again. Never happens again.”

During the interview, Netanyahu brings up an intriguing question: What would the US or any other nations do if terrorists invade them to kill, kidnap, and rape thousands of their citizens?

  • Meanwhile: Israeli protestors and police have clashed as protesters took to the streets to demand an early election.

  • 🏛️ Government. Prime Minister Ariel Henry is under mounting pressure to step down due to the risk of a civil war instigated by gang leader Jimmy Cherizier, who has recently liberated numerous inmates and seized control of the streets.
