🚀 Russia’s Done F’ed Up
Russia’s Plan: Bomb Ukraine with missiles.
How It Went: Ended up hitting its own village by mistake.
What’s surprising is that they admitted their fault right away!
“On January 2, 2024, at around 9 am Moscow time (GMT), during a flight of the Aerospace Forces, an abnormal discharge of aircraft ammunition occurred over the village of Petropavlovsk (…)”
Damage: Six private houses were destroyed, but no one was injured.
History: This is not the first time Russia has bombed itself during the war. In April 2023, a Russian warplane dropped a bomb in Belgorod, near the border, causing serious damage.
What a way to start the year.
🇰🇷 Opposition Leader Stabbed
South Korean opposition leader Lee Jae-myung was attacked and injured by a knife-wielding man in Busan on Tuesday.
The incident occurred as Lee was visiting a construction site of a new airport in the city.
Attack: Under the guise of a fan seeking an autograph, the attacker made his move, plunging a knife into Lee’s neck.
Condition: Lee was conscious before he was taken to the city’s hospital for an emergency procedure. He was later airlifted to a Seoul hospital for surgery.
Election: Lee lost the 2022 presidential election to President Yoon Suk-yeol by a narrow margin.
🇮🇷 Iran Defies US and UK on Red Sea
Iran has dismissed the US and UK demands to stop backing the Houthi rebels who are attacking Israeli-linked vessels in the Red Sea.
What did Iran do? They sent a destroyer to the area and praised the Houthis for their “brave actions” against “Zionist aggression.”
Clash: The US military said it sank three Houthi ships and killed 10 militants after they attacked a commercial ship on Sunday.
Warning: The UK and the US are considering striking Houthi targets in Yemen if the attacks do not stop. This will be a major escalation.
🇩🇪 Cologne Terror Plot Foiled
German police have arrested five suspects over an alleged plan to attack the Cologne Cathedral with a car bomb on New Year’s Eve.
The suspects are believed to be affiliated with IS-Khorasan, a branch of the so-called “Islamic State” group in Afghanistan.
Target: The Cologne Cathedral is a world-famous landmark and a popular tourist attraction.
Security: Police have searched the cathedral’s underground parking garage with explosives detection dogs, but found nothing.

Japanese Airliner in Flames After Clashing with an Earthquake Relief Plane.
🔥 Plane Collision Ignites Fire. A Japan Airlines plane carrying erupted into flames upon touchdown at Tokyo’s Haneda airport on Tuesday.
The cause? A collision with an aircraft involved in earthquake relief efforts.
🆘 What Earthquake? In case you missed our in-depth story yesterday, here’s a quick summary:
A powerful earthquake of 7.6 magnitude hit Japan on New Year’s Day, causing significant damage and loss of life.
At least 48 people were killed, with buildings toppled, roads wrecked, and power cut to tens of thousands of homes.
🚒 Emergency Response. The plane was seen bursting into a large fireball and then coming to a standstill. Emergency slides were open and people were seen running out as firefighters tried to douse the flames.
👨👩👧👦 Japan Airlines Plane. All crew members and passengers, including eight children under the age of two, were on board the Japan Airlines plane when the incident occurred. Thankfully, they all survived the crash.
🧑✈️ Earthquake Relief Plane. But people on board the relief-related plane weren’t so fortunate. Five of the six on the plane were reportedly killed - with the plane’s captain being the sole survivor.
