Russia
The West on Prigozhin’s Demise

🔥 Wagner boss blown up in the sky? A mysterious plane crash that killed Prigozhin may have been caused by a bomb on board, according to U.S. and Western officials. They believe that he WAS on the jet that broke apart in midair and fell like a stone.

🛩️ Rare and shocking. Aviation experts say it’s extremely unusual for a modern and reliable aircraft like the Embraer Legacy 600 to lose a wing while flying. They say the only possible explanation is a catastrophic event, such as an explosion or a violent thunderstorm. But we can scratch the latter out because the weather was clear then.

👩‍✈️ Stewardess’ last message. Kristina Raspopova, 39, was the flight attendant who served the passengers on the doomed jet. She had contacted her relatives hours before the departure and said that the flight was delayed due to some urgent “maintenance or repair issues.” She did not reveal the destination or the identity of the passengers.

🇧🇷 So could Embraer be an accomplice? The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer says it DID NOT service or supply parts to this particular jet, due to international sanctions on Russia.

💣 Sabotage most likely. The Pentagon says there were no detectable signs that suggest a missile hit the plane, but intelligence points to sabotage being the most likely cause. Some sources even claim that it was a result of a bomb planted in a wine crate.

🤓 But logically speaking, sabotage does seem to be much cleaner than a missile hit. After all, why go through the trouble of trying to come up with a coverup story for a missile strike, when the culprit can make the incident elusive by simply planting a bomb on the plane?

👀 Suspicion and speculation. President Biden and other Western leaders have suggested that Prigozhin may have been the target of a Kremlin hit, as he had launched a brief armed mutiny against Putin two months ago.

When asked about the crash soon after it happened, Biden simply commented,

“I’m not surprised.”

Moscow denies any involvement and calls the allegations “absolute lies.”
