Terrorists in UN?
Hi Global Recap readers,

On this day in 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, called Little Boy. Despite its name, the bomb utterly decimated the city, killing an estimated 90,000 to 166,000 people.
Let’s hope we don’t have to witness such destruction again.

🇮🇱 ISRAEL
UNRWA Staff Involved in Attacks

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The United Nations has revealed that nine employees from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) likely participated in the Hamas attack on October 7.
Remember
Remember when Israel suggested designating UNRWA as a terrorist organization?
Critics quickly hit back, accusing Israel of perpetuating genocide.
For months now, people have been witnessing UNRWA employees assisting Hamas. However, anyone who pointed this out got labeled as a “Zionist” or “far-right,” among other derogatory terms.
UN Investigation
The UN’s investigative arm found evidence against nine UNRWA staff members.
These employees may have been involved in the October 7 attacks.
The UN has decided to terminate their contracts.
However, Israel reportedly has a much larger list of 100 UNRWA employees who have been identified as Hamas terrorists.
Legislative Actions
Both Israeli and US lawmakers are taking steps against UNRWA.
Israeli lawmakers are considering a bill to cut ties with UNRWA.
The US House Foreign Affairs Committee is working on legislation to freeze funding for the agency.
International Response
Reactions to the UN’s findings have been mixed globally.
Despite the US suspending funding for UNRWA, countries like Germany, Austria, Japan, and the EU have resumed their support.

Extra cells at HMP Stocken and Cookham Wood Young Offender Institution.
Speeding up fire safety works to create more space.
Prime Minister’s Stance
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer emphasized the need for safety and swift justice. However, he’s also under fire for his apparent double standards:
Stressed that 99.9% of people want safe streets.
Pledged to take all necessary actions to end the disorder.
However: Starmer is currently facing heavy criticism for refusing to condemn violent Muslims on the streets who are stabbing and beating people, while only condemning “far-right” “thuggery.”

🇮🇱 ISRAEL
Double Wave Attack Warning

US intelligence has warned President Biden of an imminent “two-wave attack” on Israel by Iran and Hezbollah. The details remain murky, but here’s what we know.

The exact timing and nature of the attacks are still unclear.

Diplomatic Efforts
The Biden administration is working to prevent the attacks through diplomatic channels.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken has urged Qatar to pressure Iran and Hezbollah.
The US is coordinating closely with Israel on defensive measures.
Hezbollah’s Recent Attack
On Tuesday, Lebanon’s Hezbollah launched a series of drone and rocket attacks into northern Israel, warning of more to come. Could this be the first wave of the predicted attacks?

It has recently been reported that Hamas has chosen Muhammad Ismail Darwish, the head of its religious council, to replace Haniyeh.
