Hi Global Recap readers,
The internet meme machine is churning nonstop.
But why leave it to the usual certified posters when we could have the president making the memes himself? 👇🏼
What even is real anymore?
🇮🇷 IRAN
Iran's Sets Price
For Ceasefire

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian
TLDR:
^ Iran says no ceasefire without cash and guarantees.
^ Pezeshkian wants reparations and protection from another invasion.
^ Tehran also wants binding promises against new airstrikes.
^ USA and Israel still haven't agreed to any of it.
Details
Demand. Iran's president, Masoud Pezeshkian, said on March 11 that ending the war with the US and Israel would require three things:
recognition of Iran's rights,
reparations, and
firm guarantees against another invasion.
Channel. Iran pushed the same terms through mediators too. The ask was for binding commitments from both the US and Israel that they would not restart attacks after a ceasefire.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (left) and US President Donald Trump (right)
Catch. That's where this gets stuck.
It's still unclear whether Washington or Israel will take that deal.
Also, let’s be real: the US and Israel are the ones wrecking the Iranian regime’s infrastructure at scale, not vice versa. So why is Iran acting like it gets to dictate the terms for stopping the aggression?
Trump. That said, President Trump has been talking like the end is close, saying the war will end soon and later telling Axios, "It will end whenever I want it to."
In a speech in Hebron, Kentucky, he also said, "We have won" and promised operations would keep going until the mission is done.
Gap. So Iran is asking for money and security guarantees before it stops, while Trump is talking like victory is already settled.

🇭🇺 HUNGARY
Orbán Says
Family Threatened

From a video posted on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s Facebook page.
Click for video
TLDR:
^ Orbán says Ukrainians threatened his children and grandchildren.
^ He put the claim on social media on March 11.
^ Still no specifics, and no word on police.
^ It follows more Orbán comments hitting Ukraine.
Details
Claim. Viktor Orbán said Ukrainians were threatening his family, including his children and grandchildren.
Missing. He didn't say what the threats were or offer any specifics. He also didn't say whether Hungarian police or other authorities had been contacted.
Response. Critics are mocking Orbán for seemingly having to invent a crisis to boost his reelection odds, while supporters are hammering Zelenskyy for allegedly threatening an EU leader’s life.
Timing. This didn’t happen in a vacuum. Zelenskyy was already catching heat over what was framed as a veiled threat against Orbán for blocking the EU's €90 billion loan package for Kyiv.
🇺🇸 UNITED STATES
Trump Cites
Sleeper Cells
TLDR:
^ Trump says Iranian sleeper cells are in the USA.
^ He says he's watching threats against the country.
^ The US knows where most cells are.
Details
Claim. Trump said he had been briefed on Iranian "sleeper cells" in the USA. He also said he was monitoring threats against the country.
He added, "We know where most of them are."
He also used the opportunity to claim these sleeper cells got into the country during Biden’s open-border years.
Gaps. He didn’t offer numbers, locations, or details about any specific plot. That’s not surprising, since disclosing that kind of information could compromise intelligence operations.
Timing. He made the comment while returning from a trip to Ohio and Kentucky, speaking after landing at Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday.

🇮🇱 ISRAEL
Hezbollah Rains
Down 100 Rockets
TLDR:
^ Hezbollah fired 100 rockets into Israel on Wednesday.
^ An IDF source said only about half were intercepted.
^ Israel says the barrage overwhelmed the Iron Dome.
Details
Strike. Hezbollah launched 100 rockets at Israel on March 11, with the barrage reaching as far as Rehovot.
An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) source said the volume was enough to break through Israel's air defenses.
Only half the rockets shot down.
Response. Israel's military said it would not accept attacks on civilians and was preparing a ground invasion into Lebanon. At the same time, the Israeli Air Force was already hitting ready-to-launch rocket sites and other Hezbollah infrastructure.
Damage. It's still unclear what damage the rockets caused inside Israel. What's clear is the pressure on the Iron Dome, which is usually treated as one of Israel's most reliable defenses.
Wider. This lands on day 12 of the current war involving Iran and its proxy groups, with the USA backing Israel militarily.
Israeli officials also said people were bracing for possible attacks from Yemen, even though the Houthis had not joined this round of fighting so far.
