President Trump's death scare

Hi Global Recap readers,

I have a WILD story for you today, involving China’s sacked foreign minister, a love child, and an extramarital affair. Never did I ever think this was the reason for him being “disappeared.”

Even if you are not an avid reader of my longer stories, you may want to read this one today.

🚨 But before we get into that, here’s another story that came out of the left field.

📈 Top News

🪦 Trump’s Death Scare. Someone hacked into Donald Trump Jr.’s X account and posted a series of outrageous tweets, including one that falsely claimed his father had died. The hacker also threatened North Korea and trash-talked Elon Musk and President Biden.

The former president’s son quickly regained control of his account and deleted the offensive tweets.

🚀 Ceasefire. Just when we thought the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict was about to explode, a ceasefire swoops in. Azerbaijan has put the brakes on its “anti-terrorist operation” against Armenia after the two nations shook hands on a deal leading to the withdrawal and disarmament of Armenian forces in Nagorno-Karabakh.

And guess who brokered the deal? Russia, which has had peacekeepers in the region since the 2020 war. How ironic.

🍎 Apple Workers Strike on iPhone 15 Launch Day. Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse for Apple in France, this happens. French unions have called for a two-day strike at Apple’s stores in France (Sept. 22 - 23), demanding higher pay and better conditions. They say management has ignored their “perfectly legitimate” requests.

France recently halted sales of the iPhone 12 due to radiation issues.

🇧🇷 Brazillian President Defends Wikileaks Founder. Brazil’s Lula da Silva stands up for the notorious whistleblower, Julian Assange. He argues that exposing U.S. war crimes and spying shouldn’t earn you a prison sentence.

However, the U.S. begs to differ. They’re itching to get Assange extradited to lock him up for up to 175 years, accusing him of violating the Espionage Act and hacking.

Love Child Scandal of China’s Ex-Foreign Minister

👀 A Scandal in Beijing. I remember reporting on the sudden disappearance of China’s former foreign minister Qin Gang weeks ago. Back then, many, including myself, thought that Xi Jinping was on his purging spree once again. But we may all have been wrong. Now, he is accused of having a secret love child in the U.S. from an extramarital affair.

⏪ Recap. Qin, who was seen as a close ally of President Xi Jinping, abruptly canceled his official schedule and was never seen again in public after June 25. This happened merely seven months after he assumed his position. The official reason was never given, but a Wall Street Journal report claims that he was caught in an extramarital affair that led to the birth of a child in the U.S.

📝 Official Briefing. Last month, senior Chinese officials were informed about the Communist Party’s investigation into Qin. His formal reason for getting sacked? “Lifestyle issues.” This is a term used in China to refer to sexual misconduct.

The report also says that the probe is looking into whether Qin’s affair and other actions could have compromised China’s national security. It really seems like this term is the CCP’s go-to label for everything contra-CCP.

🤐 The Silent Response. China’s Foreign Ministry is keeping its lips sealed regarding the report.

Qin’s rumored extramarital lover, a popular TV presenter named Fu Xiaotian, has also disappeared after posting a photo of her baby son on X.
