Poland
Warsaw Send More Troops to Its Border

Deputy Interior Minister Maceij Wasik
🚨 Poland sends reinforcements. Warsaw has agreed to send 1,000 additional troops to the border with Belarus after a request from the border guard service. This action occurs amidst a resurgence in illegal border crossings, which Poland attributes to Belarus orchestrating.
🔍 Why it matters. The Polish Defense Ministry said the deployment was “due to the dynamic situation on the Polish-Belarusian border” and after a request from the border guard itself. Around 2,000 troops are currently stationed along the border with Belarus, providing support to 5,000 border guards. Deputy Interior Minister Maceij Wasik stated that the migratory pressure on the Belarusian border is on the rise, and it is not a coincidence at all.
👀 Belarusian services accused. The illegal crossings, he said, were being facilitated by Belarusian border guards without whose participation “it would not be possible to pass.” Wasik claims that the Belarusian services deliberately damaged the border fence to allow migrants to cross.

🔥 There is also the Wagner mercs. Wagnerites have been popping up near the border in recent weeks, with NATO authorities suspecting that they might be eyeing the strategically significant patch of land called the Suwałki Gap. Lukashenko even mocked Poland, suggesting that they should thank him for keeping the eager Wagnerites in check, thereby preventing them from ravaging Polish cities.
