🦠 Prepare For a Deadlier Pandemic, WHO Warns

Hello again, Global Recap readers! If you bought Nvidia (NVDA) stocks prior to yesterday’s earnings call, congratulations.
📈 Nvidia’s recent earnings call and outlook have exceeded the expectations of even the most bullish analysts. The company’s shares surged 30% in pre-market trading on Thursday.
Thanks AI: Nvidia expects its second-quarter revenue to be around $11 billion ±2%, while Wall Street had anticipated $7.2 billion. Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, attributes this to a shift towards accelerated computing and high demand for Nvidia's chips that power generative AI.
A massive bubble or a reasonable valuation based on a reasonable future outlook? 🤔

🦠 Prepare For a Deadlier Pandemic, WHO Warns

Warning: The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently issued a critical warning to countries worldwide, urging them to prepare for future pandemics. According to WHO director-general, Dr. Ghebreyesus, these future health emergencies could pose an even deadlier threat than the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mixed Messaging: Despite the WHO's official declaration of the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Ghebreyesus emphasizes that the virus still remains a significant threat. The potential emergence of new variants and their subsequent impact on disease and mortality rates cannot be ignored according to him.
“The threat of another variant emerging that causes new surges of disease and death remains, and the threat of another pathogen emerging with even deadlier potential remains,”
Global Pandemic Accord: The 194 WHO member states are currently working on a global pandemic accord. Negotiations are set to continue over the next year. The director-general stated that this is an important initiative to keep the world safer and enhance international cooperation.
Potential Future Threats: Since 2009, American scientists have discovered more than 900 new viruses. One potential threat comes from human encroachment on natural bat habitats, which increases the risk of pathogen transmission from bats to humans.
Question: I know that in some countries, many people still wear masks outside despite the lifting of the mask mandate. Do you agree with Dr. Ghebreyesus that the pandemic is still a grave threat to all of us? 👇🏻
